We all know what happened to the theory of Marxist-leninesm ?......little too much theory and short on reality.......but what about Capitalism......

Dictionary defines capitalism as : " When Government does not interfier with Business ".......but aside what Karl marx said capitalism does, and its supposedly Human elianation..........but what does  today's economic trends tells about capitalism...

1- Need for Businesses to be regulated by Governments.

2-Interfirance of Business in Governments, buyingout poleticians.

3-companies geting " Too big to fail ".

    4-Abuse of TAX.

5-Businesses taking Jobs where ever there is cheap labor, and has no loyalty to the Mother country.

it's not communism or capitalism that fail,

Its human ideas that 'fail(ed)', I would say. May be different concepts of economy will be needed to face certain problems/aims.

I think we are looking for a new and stale concept for future economy. Something beyond absolutly free and by governement planned and regulated economy.

What kind of economy did they have on Star Trek? Whatever it was I liked that lol. One united species allowing for all sorts of diversity. All basic needs met but abundant educational resources to develope each person according to their interests and abilities. I'm not sure what that would be called.

I am currently an unemployed licensed pharmacist in Texas. It seems pretty silly and wasteful to me. The idea that you could have spare labor, spare resources, but insufficient jobs is wasteful. Maybe there could be a sort of capitalism so people like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs can reach their full potential, but a sort of communal safety net so people like me at least do some work and can avoid bankruptcy and earn the basics we need.

There is a (new?) idea that I discussed with my brother recently.

It is called a "basic income garantee" and it meanes that everyone would get a fix amount of money from the government to live on. If you want more, you need to earn. But the state funds ones cost of living. In the spare time one has, he/she can be creative etc.

Economist have calculated that is would not cost more that what they already pay (in child benefits, unemployment benefits, disability allowance etc.). They would finance it by higher f.a.t. and taxes on production.

While my brother supports it, I am very sceptical. May be it would work on paper, but the whole system relies on an industry that would produce enough for everyone and that the one's who produce give it away to feed and support those who just live. And if less people choose to work, the economy would break in, to support the masses, and so everyone would have to go back to work again... But read yourself what it implies:

    I  agree with your brother..

How ever...The basic income guarantee should be " Very Basic " !....only to survive !.....

Although many may think such system would bring lazzyness and reduce production......which " Being only Basic Income " would deter those who want more out of life.....yet, it has some up sides as well.....

For examples : We will have more phylosopher !!Smile ....

I am partialy joking..but I mean there are so humanistic values that are lost because no one has time to pay attention or work on them....same with Art,litreture,poetry,..etc,etc....

    Also, for an Ideal society.....

" The right to survive " is most important right !

Unemployment is in deed wastfull. Especially when people are trained and want to work. In my country people have to work even longer now until they can retire (until 67). Lets hope there will be work for us and that we will still be able to manage...

But that 'basic income garantee' will give a basic income to everyone, not only to the ones in need (I fully agree to help our when old, ill, unemployed etc.) but the idea is to give the same to a child, to an old man, to a millionaire as much as to an umemployed worker. No difference, but also nothing on top. This is too much (un-)equality for my taste.

Today...it has become obviouse ," Synthesis " that Hegel was talking about..is Government systems such as in Canada, Sweden,Finland etc......

Thesis ........of capitalist elianations...and changing human nature to become the extention of means of production

    and

    Anti-Thesis....of communist/Socialist..collective means to equality.....

    .............

to come up with the Sysnthesis of A minimum social protection with limited capitalist freedom.

Agreed! Unfortunatly for my nation, too many people never read Hegel or Marx and mistakingly think of Stalin or North Korea. Any talk of limited capitalist freedom scares people here. Somehow they don't seem to think that life-long enslavement to debt, corporations, overly processed foods that our species never developed adequate means of digesting in our evolutionary journey is not limiting our freedom.
