Beardsley's first attempt at a King's Gambit fell to misery under hoenicke's bloody hand.  In seven agonizing moves, Beardsley could be seen weeping across the board.  It was a humiliating site.  For those who wish to analysis the game, and learn how not to play, I include the moves.Surprised  1.  e4, e5   2.  f4, PXP   3.  Bc4, d5   4.  BxP, c6  5.Bc4, Qh4+  6. Kf1, Bc5   7Nf3, Qf2 mate.

Beardsley's remains my be viewed at the Pleasent View funeral home.

Having been on the receiving end of Beardsley's chess whoopin's on a variety of occasions, I am shocked and strangely pleased to hear of this.  Sorry Jim.

After the cruel defeat I suffered at Jim's hand at the U.S.Senior in Nashville, TN I still cannot rejoice at his defeat...well not much. You should not feel too bad as the great Bronstein lost a very similar game to Beliavsky @ Kislovodsk in 1982 in 16 moves. source 500 King's Gambit Minatures Col. 2 by Bill Walls. I am selling some of collections including 7 books on the King's Gambit on ebay...hint hint.
