Hi, just wondered how everyone learnt to play chess - who taught you? Did chess interest you from the start or did you only just discover how to play it? Also, how long have you been playing?

Okay, i'll start off...i became interested when i went to a friend's when i was 7, and he showed me how all the pieces moved. I then went and forgot it all soon after, but i went with him to chess club a couple of years later at school, where i re-learnt and have been playing since . So, been playing for 5 or six years.

I learned chess rules and basic plans from a book. I was 7 years old and have been playing ever since

since 5 or 6 started playing alot and liking it since 10

watching my brothes play..and they taught me the rules.
