My name is Tony and I run Leeds Chess Club, I play board 5 for the A team and this is our first season in the Leeds League 1st division since I took over the club, we are looking like finishing mid-table.

I had loved chess since I was a child, took a break of about 6 years and am struggling to get my grade back up to what it was. I would be happy if one day I could reach a level of 160Ecf.

Finally, I work as an Administrator for Leeds City Council, paying numerous invoices per day - Not much fun but it's a job.

    Pleased to meet you all!

Hiya, I'm a solicitor in Leeds and don't get the chance to play OTB, so I've no idea what my "true" rating is - might be interested in going to Leeds Chess Club if it's at a convenient time/place for my work! At the moment, though, Chess.com (and more usually their facebook app) are my only chess outlets - so I'd be interested in getting involved in any team matches etc on here, as well as getting to know you all!

Nigel Redmond here!. Youngest of the local chess playing family, which includes Graham, Tony, John and Pete. Michael also can play, but is busy being a Dad to to young lads.

I was taught how to play by older brother Peter as a kid and picked up the game very quickly. Went on to captain the middle school team and won the Bradford Schools Final as a 10 year old.

When I hit my teens I met alcohol and girls, so I didnt play any OTB at all until 5 years ago. This is my second full season, and enjoying learning all over again.

I'm a Sports Manager/Teacher (My other passion) at Bradford College and set up a chess team here. Most of us are novices and are improving fast.

Currently studying towards a post grad in education and maybe top this up into an MBA the year after. So this takes up most of my time.

Like all kinds of sport/travel/fitness and adventure and love being a Chess geek!. Hate arrogant opponents who make stupid comments or try to wind you up during the game.
