I'm sorry for not being on for the other month's verses. So here July's verse. Tell us how you feel about this verse and what it means to you.
Ephesians 2:8
By grace you have been saved, through faith and not of yourself. This is the gift of God.
As a start, this verse suggests that salvation is not achieved by works. It also says something about the character of God: He is willing to grant us salvation even though we do not merit it.
good answere That's true. Even though we sin so much that we don't deserve it. But god gave it to us as a gift.
Would any one like to comment on the other part of this verse --- the meaning of "through faith"? Whose faith is it? If it is the believer's faith, why is that not a "work"?
its a faith becvause you can have a deep love for God in your heart. And no work can beat that
Through faith meaning the Holy Spirit is doing the work.
