Hi all Kiwis,

The Kiwi Ladder competition is back up and running!

This post is where you tell us you want in and also where you challenge people and post results.

We have the actual Ladder posted here: http://www.chess.com/groups/forumview/kiwi-ladder

There are currently 63 members of the NZ Group but only 22 on the ladder. Make sure others know about this and invite them to be part of it.

Rules:

~ You may challenge anyone up to three places higher than you in the ladder.

~ If you are challenged you must accept the challenge unless you are already involved in a ladder game.

~ You can't challenge the same player twice in a row.

~ The time control for all games is 3 days per move.

~ Please report the results here in this thread so we can update the ladder standings.

~ Please name your game 'kiwis ladder game' or something similar

~ If you happen to be sent 2 challenges at once just accept the first that came in and let the player that challenged second know that they were too late.

~ Once the ladder competition gets underway, new entrants begin at the bottom of the ladder.

~ To challenge someone just click their name and it will take you to their home page. Then click 'Challenge to play' on the right hand menu.

If you wish to withdraw your availability for challenges at anytime, please let us know and I will show your status as unavailable.

Hi, I have played Frankiek and chqm8, for a kiwi ladder challenge, and won. Can you change my place on the ladder. Thanks.

Regards, shanedoug (Shane)

You might also notice that I'm deleting my entries in this post after a few days. I don't know about you but when a post gets to be 4-5 pages long I find it frustrating - do I land on page 1 or page 5 etc etc.

So if you have asked me to put you on the ladder, and I say I've done it, my "done it" message will be deleted a few days afterwards.

If you want to do the same that would make it tidier and we maybe wont get to 4-5 pages so quickly.

Just a suggestion.

instead of exchanging places when you lose by a challenger, why don't they just move one place higher than you......?

hey, i've challenged chqm8 to a ladder match about 3 or 4 days ago. he hasn't accepted even thought he is currently not playing in any ladder matches. I also sent him a message to which he has not replied to. what is the usual procedure in this situation? does he simply forfiet his position?
