  As more and more KP players become frustracted b the diminishing returns of allowing the Petroff, the Bishop Opening is bound to gain in popularity. Modern treatment steers the game into channels closely akin to the Giuoco Pianissimo or the Two Knights. Black has several paths to equality but present tastes prefer the latent possibilities of this system to the static formations arising from the Petroff. -BCO Kasparov and Keene

(a) 2...Nf6   (b) 2... Nc6  (c) 2... c6 other are Bc5,  d6 and f5

(a) 2...Nf6 is the most common replies.

(a1) 3.d3  (a2) 3.Nc3  (a3) 3.Qf3  others are d4,Qe2 and Nf3

1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Nf6 (a1) 3.d3  (a11) ...Nc6  (a12) ...Bc5  (a13) ...c6  (a14) ...d5 other 3... Be7

4 games has been played with (a11) 3...Nc6 one of them was timeout.

3...Nc6 4.Nf3  notice this ? this line also lead to the Modern Bishop's Opening by tranpose. Let look at this four games here.
