I just started New Spring today. The last book I read in the series was Path of Daggers. I got tired of having to remember what happened in each book over the course of a million years between books and decided I'd wait til the series was done, then go back and read them again. But today, for no good reason, I thought I'd pick the series up again. I read a good bit while standing in line to vote today. Speaking of which, whatever happened to good old fashioned manners? I don't know how many times I had to turn to the person either standing behind me or the nosy Nellie outside the booth and ask, "Can't you see I'm trying to read here? Sheesh..."
Its good to be reading the series again, and maybe its just because I'm so early into it, but I'm glad EotW was the first one that grabbed me- I always loved the opening scene of that book. I'd love to know how the rest of you who have read NS felt about it, but please don't give anything away. Thanks,
dlordmagic
Its good back story for the series.

I thought NS was a good book but definitly not the best in the series. I kind of found it to be slower than any of the other books. I remember the disappointment when it came out that it wasn't a full book in the main series but a short prequil instead.
My favorite thing about the book is one point but two fold. The point would be how I love how information about events that are far away are talked about. The first fold of that point is that it gives you that 'goosebump' feeling that I still best remember from book one chapter one where they are talking about the false dragons and sending people to scout near the south of the two rivers. The second fold to this point is that the news from this book reflects on events in book 9, 10, and 11 and makes you wonder about certain (and very specific) characters. You will reread my comments in the Moraine Sedai of the Blue forum when you finish this book and see a bit more of where I am coming from with one of my ideas that I typed into that.
