Shall we join?
The openings league group has just been created to enhance the profile of opening groups, any opening group can join.
A league will be held with every team playing every team twice, once from each opening position.
The points of the two encounters will be added and a winner will recieve one point, loser none, if there is a draw half a point each.
If there are more then six teams, two leagues will be created, with a promotion and relegation spot.
All admins interested should join the opening league to register their team.

This may be good, I'll register the team!
Yeah, great. I see I can only play in 1 team, I'd rather play here, then....
I'm game for it
It's a bit quiet - but I registered our team. They may have some technical issues setting everything up!
Just got this in:
The Rules
Every team will play each team in their league twice, once from their thematic position, once from their oponents.
The agregate score from the two matches will lead to a win, worth one point, a draw, 1/2, or a loss, 0.
A single player may only play for one team per season. If he plays for more than 1, he will be banned from the league, and his name will bve circulated through other leagues that he has broken the rules.
Each team will play one team at a time, twice at the same time. A new fixture will start every two weeks.
Each team should chalenge their oponents from their thematic position, with a minimum and maximum of twenty players, with auto-start.
The winner of each league has the option of being promoted, but only if they feel they can handle more games.
Play is three days per move.

The games started! There's 2 matches now aginst the Nimzo Indian guys, one with our starting position, one with theirs. It will be difficult to move our pawn to e6 rather than e5 on move two, but hope we have 5 enthousiasts for leg 2 of the match!
So, we get black twice?
Not with our gambit unfortunately. We play the BG once with white and once with black and in the other match that runs parallel we play the Nimzo with white and with black. Players are not necessarily the same since these are two seperate matches that had to be organized manually. A fun initiative, but not a chess.com initiative, so there is a lot of manual organizing involved. Got to love playing against the "wandering king" group though with an opening of f3, e5, Kf2 ! I am trying to finalize as many of my games as possible to have time to enjoy this stuff!
So, there are 4 games, then?
Yes, correct - see the games below!
