Attached is a recent game that I played with my new gambit called the PerseusGambit 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3,Nf3. However this game transposed into the KorchnoiGambit which is really deadly for Black. GM's have recently been playing theKorchnoi Gambit in tournament games against the French Defense.

I'll have to try this. In databases i couldnt find what happens on 3...dxe4 is there a trap? Because you can see that white will get back the pawn soon, however it looses tempo to move the knight
In one line Black has a very awkward game. This is if Black guards the e4 pawn by playing f5. See analysis line. This line is equal
for White according to chess engine Houdini 1.5a.

Thanks for posting - I've been looking for a line to use against French players (who I find to be among the most difficult opponents!). I'm going to try this in my next game as white in a French Tournament
Actually this is a new gambit that I am still exploring and testing. I had triedthe Ulysses Gambit in a tournament game a long time ago. The move tothat gambit was 1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.Nf3 sacrificing the e pawn. Then after3...dxe4 White has either 4.Ne5 or 4.Ng5. I won a tournament game forthe championship of the Hawaii State Class Championship Expert/MasterSection. This was against fellow expert Patrick Perry. He went on to becomeHawaii State Champion in the years 1988 and 1989 and become a nationalUS Master. This opening is like a Budapest Defense. So the Perseus wasthe next logical conclusion. To play this line in a Frence Defense setting.
