Fer me twould be a selection..depending on the time of day ;)

Probably start of with a beer, im liking Sol at the moment. Then a few glasses (ok ok most probably a bottle) of Shiraz, followed up by a few shots, either Sambuca or Vodka. If im feeling decadent ill go fer a neat whiskey perhaps.

Lately I've been digging Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA.  Great stuff.

Usually though, I just throw back a few Bud Lights.

An excellent group!  And I thought I was the only one...

Favorties depend on the time of year for me.

  1. Winter - Scotch or whisky neat.  If I'm not in that mood, I go for a Godfather (2 parts blended whisky to 1 part Amaretto) or a seasonal dark winter beer.
  2. Fall - Autumn means one thing and one thing only for me:  German style beers.  Usually a Maertzen or Koelsch.
  3. Spring/Summer - There is nothing better than a good G&T or Gimlet when the weather is hot.  Other choices are a Caipirinha or Mojito.

Just this past weekend I was trading losses with a friend over Scotch Laughing

honestly, I'd have to say what I usually drink while I play is pabst!! usually I'll throw in the ol' dogfish head or great lakes. I'm actually purchasing some nice brewing equipment this month for an IPA so that'll be my drink of choice soon!

I recently discovered Dogfish Head.  I absolutely love IPA and this is one of my favorites.  I really like Goose Islands IPA as well.  My weekday beer is usually a cheap crap beer since I work and can't really enjoy it, maybe Miller Low Life or something.  On weekends I tend to splurge a little and will go with either the G.I. IPA or Newcastle.

If it's a liquor, I like to sip on some brandy on the rocks.  Korbel usually.  Remy Martin if I'm serious about it.

I prefer a good dry red wine, either Rioja or Chianti generally, or a solid stout (preferrably an imperial or oatmeal stout), my favourite of which is undoubtedly Old Rasputin.  When I can find it, I also like Fin du Monde and Trois Pistoles.  And when I'm bumming it, I go with Guinness, Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald porter, or Sam Adams cream stout (or this time of year, winter lager mmm).

When I drank wine I really liked Sangria.  Yet, I couldn't help but feel like a wuss since, if I'm not mistaken, Sangria is the butthole of the wine community.  It's like wine with training wheels.  It tastes good though.

Am i honestly the first one to say vodka?

VODKA.

with ice.

maybe a little dry lemonade if it's still early.

But if it's still early i'm actually probably on beer, in which case it's a pale ale usually, i'm not fussy, but i do prefer dark beers over lagers and i like novel flavours that make some people look at you strange.

What's your favorite IPA?  I posted it earlier but I really like Dogfish Head and Goose Island IPA's.  There's this brewery in Omaha, NE called Upstream and they make a Double IPA that's incredible. It has 9 different varities of hops and that wonderful dry flavorful taste.  I miss that one.

I just brought home a 6 pack of Blue Moon's seasonal amber ale and a tall can of the most ghetto looking malt beverage in the cooler.  It's called JOOSE.  Cheers!  Laughing

Right now I'm enjoying a Brooklyn Brown Ale just after work, earlier I had my friend and co-worker Josh's (see: The_Pitts) Black Ale.  Usually I have a tasty beer, lately: Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA; sometimes a whiskey (whisky): Laphroig 10 year, or Lagavulin 16 year; and sometimes in the summer: a "TnT" (Tanqueray and Tonic) or Mojito...

I haven't met the beer that there wasn't something to like about it. Guinness is my love but since I have retired and have the time I am brewing. So far I have made and drank - Pale Ale, European Lager, Cooper's Stout, Irish Stout(Like a sweet stout..very nice), Dark Ale, Bitter, Draught Ale, Real Ale, Cream Ale.

I usually make more stout than others but now in the hot Aussie summer I am sticking to Pale Ale and Bitter. Cold, crisp and refreshing.

Today(Boxing Day) I am puting a phot of me and my little operation on my home site. Take a look.

cheers

Either two or three belgian Leffe (750 ml) beers or a few shots of Strong (96% ethanol). It's always funny waking up the morning after some Strong and browsing through the games you played...
