What does your engine say here?
This is what my Rybka 2.2 32 bit says. It shows +1.38 for white but the moves which it says do not lead to a win. After f5 Bc7 f6 + Kf7 both the sides just keep moving the bishop back and forth.
The correct move here may be b4!? which perhaps cannot be found by engine.

With regard to post #1.
My rig does find b4 but took 11 minutes and needed depth 33:
With regard to post #3:
My rig could not figure that one out, even when I showed it the first couple of moves.

turn off null move pruning (disable null moves), and then try it.
also, try Komodo 3 64 in addition to houdini to solve the puzzles.
edit: also try zappa mexico II with null moves enabled.
put this one in for your engine to find:
2b1rk2/5p2/p1P5/2p2P2/2p5/7B/P7/2KR4 w - - 0 1
1.f6! is the answer.
