This group should be a private group. No-one should be alllowed to join, write in forums, or write in notes without asking to join. This is to cut down on crude comments. Anyone agree?

I think that's an overreaction. The forums and wall should be private, not the entire thing.

It seems to me that we would be imposing discrimination upon ourselves. Surely in this day and age there are other methods of dealing with verbal abuse than 'closeting' ourselves on a discussion board. Then people would really wonder what we are up to. Wink People have fought long and hard so that we don't have to hide away. Let's not take a step backwards.

My parents, family and friends know im lesbian. So what? Whats anybody gonna do about it? Its my life and a lot of my friends r lesbian too. Being lesbian isnt a shame anymore like in the old days.

I dont hide it. In fact, im proud of it.

Few ppl here have tried taking me on about and i put them in their place. Simpel.

I agree with Alpha-Girl actually.  At first I thought making the notes private would be a good thing, but then, what do we have to be ashamed of?  If some immature people choose to show their ignorance, what should it matter to us?  We should be proud to be who we are, and unafraid of what other people might think.

I agree as well. We shouldn't have to go private because other people are ignorant. I beleive this site has some rules about acceptable behaviour. If someone breaks them we should report them, but I think more people are likely to participate if its an open group.

I agree with marius19. If we want to be respected by our sexual orientation, we should not close in a small group, but open ourselves. If we closed in we would be acting the same way as biased (closed minds) ...
