If you have any questions to do with the World League that you would like to see answered by an administrator of the World League, please post them in this topic, and we will do our best to answer them.

Hi. I'm mixed up on what the World league is really about. Is it t like a group like all the others? If it is, why are there so many country teams under it ? Or do the teams play eachother??? I hope you can help.

thanks

This is the group where we'll post the results about the World League, which is the league of country teams on chess.com. The teams all play each other, this is just sort of a gathering point.

jaller, do you mean the ranking system?

When are the matches going to start? Shouldn't teams be playing multiple matches at a time so we aren't finished with this thing in 2012?

It won't take as long as you think, when you see the schedule. No official matches have been finished yet, only exhibition ones.

we would like to suggest the following:

1.0 Team Match Points also count in the Team Match Leaderboard, like regular Team Matches.

we know that the WL Matches have a different points system ... we suggest that Team Points also count in the Team Match Leaderboard using the Leaderboard system ... in as much as the WL games are also Team Matches.

this would encourage Country Teams to participate and give their full support to the games

2.0 In the present Divisions, THE MASTERS DIVISIONS should be for the high-rated players (higher than the present highest division, eg >2100+ or >2000) ... and an OPEN DIVISION (no max/min rating) be created, like the current MASTERS in the WL Exhibition games .

1.0 is already in effect.

As for your second suggestion, the system has been changed now so that there will no longer be any ratings divisions.

You are in team USA Northeast, which is already a part of the league.

What happens if your country team is not there? My friend is from Malaysia and I know there is a group called ' Team Malaysia', but he can't join because of no team.

1.0 Out of 195 total number of countries in the world, how many are participating?

2.0 Will the tournament be completed in a year if the answer to 1.0 is at least 50%?

3.0 Will a player who is a member of 2 team countries be allowed to play in both team countries?

1.0 At the moment, 67 countries have registered teams. The last round of the tournament will most likely have begun before the end of the year, but then the round will probably end after the new year.

A player who is a member of 2 country teams is technically not allowed to play in both countries. This includes yourself. You have to choose one team and go with it.

If you are signed up for the round 1 team match it will show up just like any other game in your alerts box.

You are correct. USA Southeast has been awarded the win.

Two things:

  • Where do we go to see the results?
  • Is there a list of ongoing matches, in case we want to see how other teams are progressings?
