They finally get a pole, Alonso is in prime position win the race walking away and the pit crew send him out without securing his right front tire. Race over.
Now it looks like neither Alonso or Piquet will compete in the European Gran Prix. The FIA gave Renault a one race suspension as a result of the incident. Not only did the pit crew send Alonso out without the wheel nut secure, they never told him. He found when the wheel fell off.
Renault will be appealing the decision but, if it is enforced, I expect Piquets season is over and he will be replaced. Even if Renault does compete at the European Gran Prix I wouldn't be surprised to see someone else alongside Alonso.
