    Hi friends,

I use SCID under Mac OS X (10.6.4).

It is near to perfect but only near.
    1) Because if I like to set up a new position at the board, I cannot see the squares.
    2) The start dialog shows that the option.dat were not found.

What to do? Where can I find the option.dat file and how can I choose the board-settings that I can see the squares colors if I like to set up a new position.

Thanks for help - and if there is a german speaker who can help me, that would be excellent.

    Best regards

You may be able to create an options.dat file from the Options menu. At the bottom of the menu, you have "Save Options." Unless there is a bug, I believe that will work. I would also select "Auto-save Options" to ensure that any changes are preserved. If you still run into the same error message, it may be a bug.  I can help you report it and hopefully it will be fixed in future releases.

You might just somehow have the black and white squares set to the same color by default. You can try Options -> Colors... to find out and make sure that they are set to contrasting colors.

If I save options it safes but I cannot find any options.dat
I tried to create a new empty file options.dat but SCID din't use it.
In the folder where I installed SCID I have only the scid.app
I don't know where I can safe any files that SCID will read during the start process.

for the squares ... I changed the board colors from wooden to plain etc. But nothing changed. Cry

    Anyway thanks for your reply
