The Season 2 schedule will look like this:

Off-Season: 3/15-4/4

Any team in Season 1 automatically gets first dibbs on returning for Season 2 of course, but a number of teams have already withdrawn and/or chosen not to return which leaves room for new teams to join.  There is also the possibility of expansion (25 or 30 teams instead of 20 - as long as it's a multiple of 5 we'll be good).

The only requirements for competing in the league are simple:

1) The team must have completed at least one Speed Vote Game without timing out.
2) The team must have at least 2 admins who are willing to be responsible for league games (1 primary contact, and at least 1 secondary), and at least 1 of them (preferably both) must be a member of the League HQ to receive bulletins, updates, schedules, etc..

I will begin working on the schedule on Monday, October 19th, and have it posted by Monday, October 26th.  Therefore, all teams have until Sunday, October 18th to qualify.

All the teams in bold have played a Speed Vote game to completion.  The other teams have yet to qualify.  If you would like your team to be taken seriously, please show that your team can go the distance by finishing a Vote Game at 10-minutes per turn (preferably against one of the other teams that have yet to qualify as well). 

The Admins in bold are members of the League Headquarters (this group).  It stands to reason that anyone who wishes to compete in the league should have the admin in charge as a member of the League Headquarter so that they can receive the necessary news bulletin updates.

Yes, we will need a new list.  I'm not assuming that everyone will return.  In fact, I said:

I didn't think it was necessary for anyone to make that decision yet.  However, if anyone is SURE that they WILL want to return (or even if you've already decided against it), feel free to post your intentions in this thread.  But no one should feel pressured to make this decision as we still have 2 months before the next season starts.

The only thing I knew for sure was that we had room for AT LEAST 3 new teams, and I wanted to keep track of who was interested in filling those spots.  I will go back and modify the first post to include teams that have announced their intention to return, as well as teams who will be joining us for the first time.

Team Antarctica will continue, Team ChessCola Might not...we don't have a team there to support the games... so, unless I get it (and unfortunately I don't have the time) we will have to withdraw for next Season, at least with me as the leader, if someone wants to take this role meanwhile... :)

No prob Manny.  You actually only brought the Chess & Cola Club in because we needed another team to round things out.  Thank you for that.  If they want to sit out next season, it's cool.  We've still got lots of time to decide.  No worries.

 There are technically more members, but they haven't joined yet. The two teams are supposed to hold all of the members that are part of certain teams, but they haven't joined yet.

 Treat the teams Glorius Chess, The Ultimate, and Ferrari / Porsche / Ford / Chevy as the members of The Ultimate Alliance.

 Treat the teams the fire land, The Ultimate, and Spirit Kingdom as the members of The Three Kingdoms.

I'm surprised that only 4 teams out of 20 want to return for season 2!

I'm sure more will be returning too.  We've got plenty of time for them to make up their minds.

Thank you. Looking forward to playing a game right through to the end. Most of our games have been won inside 5 moves by time-out.

Unfortunately that's the case with most Speed Vote Games.  That's exactly why I formed this league, so that we could all find opponents who were willing to go the distance with us.  Put on some extra coffee tho, cuz some of these games can last a long time (the longest so far was over 21 hours - most go 7-10, but many have gone 12-16).

NONE of your games are short, Babs.    I think your SHORTEST game was over 10 hours. 

I hear you about the not resigning thing too.  I was in a game yesterday (non-league) and we had a forced mate in 7.  The only problem was that 7 moves takes 140 minutes to play, so we had to wait another 2 and a half hours to finish it while they kept offering draws right up to mate-in-1.
