Thanks.  Yeah I was thinking this would work better than text and setting up the regular board everytime.  There's a slight risk of confusing the Hawk or Elephant for regular rooks and bishops but it's probably no greater a risk of confusion than typos and constantly going back and forth between text and physical pieces.
