I recently played the Stonewall attack through the Bird move order 1.f4.

I had a very promising position where I blundered a piece and lost. It was a 20 min rapid game. Anyhow I used the Bird moveorder because I knew my oponent goes for a KID set up if I play the normal Stonewall move order (1.d4 Nf6 2.e3). But he always "commits" himself against 1.f4 by playing  1...d5. Another point is of course......... If you play the Bird move order you must be prepared for the From gambit.  I am actually a very new "stonewaller". I got fascinated in it by discovering the power of it when playing on ICC. And also Yaacovs games and stonewall attack lecture. So I was very pleased to find this group. One of many topics here I am interested to discuss the construction/creation of different Stonewall attack repertoires. I will open a thread on this topic if it does not already exist.

One thing you could do is look at Botvinnik's games with the Stonewall.  Afterall White has the extra move.  He didn't.

I found this group by accident and have just joined this group. It seems that many posts are "incomplete" perhaps (I am guessing) due to the problem with LucidDream's account. I hope the matter gets resolved quickly and we get to see all the old posts.

[edit: urm... just noticed that the notes about the account closure are over 2 months old.. Frown I guess I'll have to dig deeper and longer for  my "study material"... ]
