Part 7 of my short story:

 Fortunately Pastor John was at home. I was welcomed with a hug and a cup of tea. Then we sat down and he listened quietly and attentively to my story.

When I had finished it, I was curious about his reaction. Would he say that it is nonsense? That I had become a victim of my “weak nerves”? Or had had a hallucination?

But without batting an eyelid he said: “Well, this was really an extraordinary experience. But we can see in the bible that God manifested himself sometimes in the clouds.” And we started a short bible study according to that theme.

When we departed I felt totally relieved and happy. Now I was sure. God really had given me an extraordinary revelation to stabilize my fainting faith.

“But what about the 30 000 years-of-age and the C-14 method?” For a little moment I paused irritated. I had totally forgotten to ask Pastor John about it.

But then I smiled: “So what? Let them find old bones of 100 000 years-of-age. I know that my SAVIOR is alive!”

If you are interested, Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth, Vol 1, Vol 2, and the shorter 'Thousands, Not Billions' are available from Answers in Genesis.  Those bones are likely not the age they claim.

Research projects suggested in 'RATE Volume 1' and reported in 'RATE Volume 2' and the summary 'Thousands Not Billions' records the results of carbon-14 tests in diamonds and coal.  Also it compares diverse radiometric dating methods on the same rock source.  Among other results, there is a persistent Carbon-14 % in diamonds and coal sources.  This is problematic because secular sources claim diamonds and coal are dated at 300+ mya or even bya.  The best Carbon-14 method to date can only detect about 20 half-lives or to about 100 kya.  Diamonds and coal should have 0% detectable carbon-14.

Furthermore, the same rock samples give disagreeing ages when subjected to multiple dating methods.  Curiously predominately beta decay routes tend to age younger than predominately alpha decay routes.

These are but two of the many other tests that were conducted that resulted in serious questions about the trust-worthiness of radiometric dating assumptions.  'Thousands...' is the easier read for someone with no science background, or if you understand geology then go for the other two books also.

The assumptions

1.  Parent only disappears to daughter.

2.  Daughter only appears from parent.

3.  Decay rate is constant over time.

4.  The starting material of daughter and parent is known.

Well, I suppose you are a scientist !? It is very good that this "battle field" is not only in the hands of atheists or agnostics, but also occupied by Christians with background knowledge.

I`m not a scientist but maybe a prosaic "writer" and have to go on with it. So, in the moment there is no time and energy for me to go deeper into that theme :-(

Thank you for the kind words.  God bless you.  We cannot all be experts in every field.  God placed us in the body of Christ for specific jobs.  Thank God for Christian 'prosaic writers' which I am not! We do not have time to research every field of study.  Best advice to follow:  Trust what you read in your Bible even if it seems unreasonable by the world's wisdom.  You will be accussed of blind faith, but you will be correct.

Yes, I agree! Besides, evolution theory seems to me very unlogigally. It should be clear for everyone that there must exist a planning mind and executing will behind all
