Well since it has a name I figured I would start a new forum in it's honor and I will update this forum from now on when there are new updates to report. Right now there is one small update to go on though,
the prologe is expected to be released later this week during the first ever JordanCon. If it is and any other news that comes from JordanCon will be posted here (or the links to it)
Started Eye of the World the other day. I am enjoying more now than the first time I read it.
Excellent.
Wasn't Gathering storm the name of a prologue?
I checked, Gathering Storm may have been a chapter name but no prologues have that name.
It appears that I may have spoken too early. JordanCon is starting this coming weekend, not week, so if the prologue is going to be released, it will probably happen during that time.
Well the porlogue didn't come out and truthfully, I didn't see any news worth mentioning that hasn't already been mentioned on the JordanCon websites. The big news in the past few days though has been about Shifting Winds, Book 13 of WoT and part 2 of A Memory of Light. He has written about 125,000 words already for the book but feels that there is massive amounts of editing to do and therefore is about 25% of the way done with the book. Hopefully it will have a November 2010 release date but Brandon said it might even be sooner. The title, Shifting Winds, WILL be changing and when more information comes out about it I can start another forum. The Gathering Storm is still set for release on Nov 3rd 2009.... not much else to report. Expecting cover art to be out sometime within the next month.
US and UK cover art:
I wonder why the American and European covers are so different? Do all the books look like that in Europe?????
Just a general update, Brandon Sanderson is currently writing two other books, or rather putting the finishing touches on them. After he finishes that he will get back to writing book 13 of WoT. The book is about 59% done he stated in a blog a few weeks back. He still plans to get the book finished by January 2010 and that will still give it just enough time to be out by Nov or Dec 2010.
Nov 3rd 09 remains to be the launch date of The Gathering Storm!
I will update again when he starts writing again.

Chapter 1 is out!!!!!!!!!! Click on the link above and either register or login with Tor.com to read chapter 1. I have not read it yet and if you would like to discuss it please create a forum and go right ahead. Name the forum so that others will know to avoid it if they do not want to know what happens.
Next big thing is that there is a date for the prologue to be released. It will be 25,000 words long. (that is very long) It will be released September 27th! I will post a link that day for where it will be so you can feel free to check here or venture on your own and post it here for me.
There may be a lot more soon so you may want to track this topic.
Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

And the book is out too! I managed to pick it up today. Turns out there are advantages in studying 15 minutes away from the largest bookstore in Scandinavia. I took me longer than that to find the book though...
Awesome, started reading the prolouge which is written by RJ. It seems pretty good so far. Storm on the horizon so there is a lot of tension. Got to go slow though and make this book last.
people kept telling me I should make the book last, but instead I read it in 2.5 days and now I'm already jonesing for book 13 to come out.
I hear you. I had to pace myself, read 150 pages every otherday is permitted then have to take a day off. Ususally go back and read my favorite parts a few times as well. I think that Brandon did not do a very good job with Mat. I would be the biggest critic since Mat has always been my favorite character but I do not like the way Brandon wrote him. I was looking online at someother websites and apparently most people that read the series and talk about it online agree. Hopefully he will make some changes. I thought Rand was written perfectly so far. Absolutly love reading about him and how he has become cuillendilar. Really cool. Overall I am happy right now with the book. 3/4 of the way through.
