It has just been announced that Michael Shumacher will drive for Ferrari in the European Grand Prix.  He will fill in for Massa as he will not be recovered from his skull fracture in time to participate.

This is great news for F1, maybe we can get past all the controversy that has plagued the sport over the previous months.  Ratings are sure to climb.

The big question is whether Schumacher can step back in at age 40 and continue to handle the car like he did before retiring in 2006.  Reflexes and anticipation are everything in F1 and after his hiatus, they are sure to be a bit dull.

I don't know if anyone else saw this before me, but: Michael Schumacher is now not returning to the greatest motorsport in the world due to injuries he sustained while riding a motorcycle. Sad news coming from the most dominant driver the sport has ever seen.
