I just had to make a challenge to Team Canada for Round 9 of the World League. Do we have to many games going concurrently? What do you think?
Our participation has dropped in our team match, is it caused by to many matches or other factors. We fielded a very subpar team against Team Philippines. Comments? Suggestions? Ideas?

It's not too many, but the teams we're facing are very good...

It's the way the World League worked, if we slowed down the amount of games we would never finish.

I agree it's too many concurrent games. I understand why the US was split up, but it may have been too fractured. The Phillipinos are going to massacre us! I suggest we all rendezvous at the Alamo. :-)
A more serious suggestion; after the 1st year of WL is over, maybe we should request revisiting how the teams are split up, and lobby for combining a few US districts?

It's not too much. I just wish that I would be matched with players who are closer to my level rather than 1800+.

what do you guys think of combining the north and south teams together, and have 3 teams?...East, West, Central. I think you Americans should have a chance of winning the world league too. Right now It looks like in the A grouping, the best US team will probably finish 7th. With 3 US teams, England and Phillipines will have a couple more true competitors to fight with. I think the world league is great. Just a few tweeks and it will be better. But the US teams are definitely spread too thin.
I agree with you, it would make us more competitive. We also have a problem of brain drain our higher level player are not playing anymore which does not make a us match up well.

too many concurrent games. i am more hesitant to play so many games and also will devote less time to each game if i take on too many, increasing my chances of handing losses to the U.S.

we'd do much better if we do 1 game at a time. That is what I'm trying to do with my turn-base games

Why wouldn't you face other countries in the WL as Team USA? Take players from all the divisions, have them battle for a spot on the team to fill spots by ratings like 12-1400, 1500-1700 and so on. Approach the other teams in the WL with the idea that all teams enter the tournament with a set amount of players filling these rating slots. Let's say 10 people for each rating bracket. Then the journey would be interesting for the players, honor is bestowed on those who make the team, And a true Team USA battles everyone else in the world on an even platform for the Championship.
It takes some organizing, but I'm sure a World League Committe can be created to tackle the obstacles.
Just a thought....
