Hey People,

     What stuff do you want to see in our forum and in the group. I'm a working musician so I've been off for too long dealing with band stuff. I dumped all my other chess.com projects to get this group back on track. Let's get this group going strong. Start making suggestions. I am going to try and get a bunch of punk bands to sign up for chess.com and this group. I am contacting East Bay Ray from the Dead Kennedys and Keith Morris from the Circle Jerks to sign up. My Band toured a lot with Black Flag so I'll see if I can get those guys on the band wagon.

After some deliberation, I decided I was overthinking it.  I want to learn chess to support my kids learning.  It is good for their academic development.  So I want to see discussions on theory and practice. 

The second kind of forum is anything Punk - both from a sharing favorite bands and experiences as well as convictions.  For me that was the draw to this group.  While I certainly revel in being punk, and more importantly standing out from the crowd, I believe being a part of the punk rock culture comes from the belief that we have a greater purpose than just trudging through life.  Even if we, or I, don't have a firm grasp on the details of that purpose.

In short, chess and punk.  It is good for the soul

The idea for This group is awesome! Punk and Chess go hand n hand for me. Would love to see some tour dates posted and some opening strategies for beginners. I'm fairly new to the chess world but I'm old school to punk so I pose two questions to everyone: How can we make this group more active? and What was the best show you've seen?

I'm going to put up a number of tutorials designed for game improvement sometime next week. I took two weeks off from my schedule to get this group really runnning and will start on Saturday, November 13. Stay tuned...

Right on Hugh. Some opening chess traps would be a great addition to include for some of the more common openings.
