That is on the list also. Want to explore some of the battlefields from the civil war.

Went to DC a few years ago. You can't see it all in just a week. Need to go back.

yep, you should try to get the Washington Monument before the next earthquake eh?
Haha you can't get close enough to touch the Washington Monument right now, seems there is no real projected reopening date yet either.
dang! My friend and I ran up the monument on a class trip.....I was in 6th grade, boy were we exhausted when we got up there! ......I sweat just thinking about it now....lol

I want to go sand skiing in Dubai :)
Skiing on sand. Hmmm. I guess it could work if the dunes are tall and steep enough. Best part would be that I wouldn't slide half a mile after I fell and wonder what county my skis ended up in like in snow skiing. I did something like that in Big Bend NP on the banks of the Rio Grande back in the 70's. There was a LARGE, steep sand bank sloping down to the river and we more or less "skated" down for about 150 yards.
Ahh, now that brought back some old memories.
wow, on sand?? Sounds like a job for a snowboard.....too bad I can't do that yet..:{
There is an Ski run in Dubai, some huge mall.
Yes they have the highest : "Indoor snow skiing dome" in the world....

but they still have alot more sand! :}
Take a dune buggy out, I've heard that is the best way to explore the desert.

No doubt about that Iceland
Iceland has always held my interest. I think it's been the active volcanos but my interest was "ignited" when I read Journey To The Center Of The Earth by Jules Verne when I was a wee lad.

Iceland is very interesting especially geologically, I think of the plates that separate Europe and North America, you can actually see that in a valley on Iceland. Unfortunately Iceland is the only country in "Norden" (the Nordic Countrys) I havn´t visit. And for a Swede like me Iceland is the closest you can get to how they spoke in Sweden during the viking age
Living history.
