Planet earth has a huge variety of wonderful places, they are so many that a lifetime isn't enough most of the times to see all of them ...Anyway until now the best places that i have visit were:
Malaysia (Kouala Lumpur,Taman Negara,Malacca)
Dubai (a developing paradise)
Barcelona with so many things to see and do (Gaudi's works are just a must)

As far as cities go, Paris has to be the loveliest city in Europe; and the easiest city to get around. I'm saying 'a big no' to London!

Athens? How long did you stayed? What did you see remember? The countryside is also very nice at Greece (and the islands of course..)
I think we stayed for 3 days, i only remember the food was REALLY REALLY good And the citadel was pretty too.
I also went to the Peloponessos with school, that was great too!

I liked a lot of destinations for different reasons:
- For the art/culture: Italy, Greece, Spain, Czech Republic
- For the sea: Italy,Greece, Cabo Verde
- For the trekking: Italy (especially Dolomites area) and Finland
- For the people: Spain and Cabo Verde
Susanti
- Venice : Romantic, no road terrafic, boat as public transport, culture, hystoric.
- France : Good food, good wine, culture, nice places to visit, many beautiful caves to see.
- Norway : Beautifull dramatic landscapes, nice camping places, nice to travel around with camper or motorbike.
- Scotland : Beautiful landscapes furthur to North, culture
- Indonesia : Where I come from ;) forrests, beaches, culture.
- Sweden : where I lived for 12 years, North Sweden has a very beautifull landscapes, nice camping places.
- New York : busy, crowdy, MTV :) lots of nice take a way food, nice buffet (pay by how much weigh of the food) the first time I experienced, very organized easy road map.
- Iceland : The Geizer, Wild Lax fishing.
I search for Cabo Verde and saw that are some small islands to the left side of Africa.Seems very interesting destination..I suppose they have a lot of nature..If you have some photos from there please upload.
Where is the Dolomites area Mr Francesco?
Very nice places Susanti, especially Iceland for me..

A lot of the southeastern USA is where I have been
For Cabo Verde I'm sorry but I made the journey several years ago and at that time I had only a traditional (non digital) camera. I never had the time to select and digitalize the slides.
In any case, you can find a lot of photos and information in the following site:
http://www.caboverde.com/
For the dolomites, they are in the north-east of Italy, see:
http://www.dolomiti.it/index.php?sez=benvenuti&language=eng
The most famous destination are the three peaks of Lavaredo:

I have some photos, that I hope to have time to share sooner or later...
I just checked the sites and Dolomites area seems very interesting place to visit.Thank you.
I also checked and Lampedusa Island, next to Tunis at google earth and it has a lot of nice pictures.
Wonderful,Italy is next to Greece so the are great possibilities to visit these places.

Long time since I was a hippy traveller, but Kashmir sticks in my mind as the most amazing place I ever saw. A hair-raising bus trip up the mountains and then over into the Kashmir valley, green and beautiful and the lakes - and all around the Himalayas, truly cosmic.

Kyoto, Japan then about 1 hr away due south go to Koyasan (Mt. Koya) and check out the eerie graveyard of the rich and powerful of Japan (Oda Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, Takeda Shingen... etc.).
if you're ever in Shang-hai try to go the the zoo and take the safari, that was pretty interesting! (live chickens were thrown out the window tied to a rope and had tigers and lions chasing our bus and jumping up the side to get the bird, I don't condone that sort of thing but it happened and wow!)
Caines, Aus. was beautiful. snorkeling in the great barrier reef. but pretty expensive.
Wow,that's a safari with a lot of heat! The only safari that i have done was at....desert!Nothing alive, the only heat was from the drivers accelerations at the sand piles! It was fun anyway.
Do you have any pictures from Shang-hai's safari from the lions or tigers?I love to do such a exciting safari..

Switzerland is the one place I would most like to return to, but it is very expensive. I live in Florida but I love mountains and feel compelled to vist someplace with altitude and a view. Glacier National Park in Montana is as beautiful as the alps but a lot more affordable. However I also love historic places and for that I must travel to Europe. In the past ten years I have visited most of the European countries but found Italy and Greece to be most beautiful with their ancient treasures.

I am not the world traveler you guys are. But of the few places I've visited, I was most impressed with The Great Wall of China. It was majestic in appearance, horrendous with its history of slave labor and mass graves, and amazing that it actually COULD be built without today's caterpillars and other machines. At any rate, I will never forget those walls and those mountains!
I know this doesn't count as travel, but if your close enough to Birmingham Alabama you need to see the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit at the museum of art. I just came home from going to see it. This is one of the best exhibits I have seen there. Best part of the exhibit is it is free for something of its caliber.

I got an invite for this group. I suspect it's because of my picture. That was taken here: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=46.973386,12.365308&spn=0.001259,0.003487&t=h&z=19 ; on a pass at about 3000m altitude on the path between the Lasorlinghutte and the Bergerseehutte. If you're going to walk in the Alps, I can recommend the Virgental! No ski lifts, no large towns, but a lot of good huts hidden in the mountains, very good paths between them, and constant views of some of the highest mountains in Austria.
Further abroad I loved East Malaysia (Bako and Mulu national parks!) and all of Costa Rica. Costa Rica is Paradise.
