Everyone, I want the truth. If you are not comfortable with posting the real reason for joining, send me a private message. It's about trust. I'm not trying to force you, just please, look at this as an experiment. You can ask me stuff, too, of course. But I simply don't feel like supervising this group without having a feeling about the members...
In short: I WANT TO BE I N - S P I R E D, as in ' i n s p i r i t '..

I joined mainly because over the years that we have known each other on this site you have been a good friend and I like and respect you.
Over the last few months I've been finding less time to spend on playing chess but as the summer months return and the nights grow lighter I will have more time and will try to contribute more. I am an amateur astronomer and I try to take advantage of every clear night that we get as they are few and far between here in the UK.
Thank you, guys. Anita, do you join each and every group you have been invited by?
Thanks Dave as well, please don't worry about contributing more, you already did by joining and answering.
I want everyone to know that I am not trying to judge you guys. Why? First of all, MY god doesn't judge. To me, a god that let's so much mayhem happen on earth, violence, manipulation and corruption and then judges us humans must be a complete moron. If god were a being, I could only say: "Well, what are you complaining about? Didn't you make us in your own image?' Deal with it. We are not here on earth to be bloody angels, are we now?
Secondly, I have come to realize that the truth, no matter how harsh sometimes or difficult to understand, is far better in the long run than some useless excuses, lies, fear of not being accepted bla bla etc. it's such an embarrassing trait among the members of this race, I get bored very easily. So, if you joined for a selfish reason, tell me. I don't care. If you don't wanna tell me, that's fine, too. I just know that it is not easy to find true friends, I personally like what Wayne W. Dyer said: "A Friend Is Someone Before Whom I Can Think Aloud "
Of course, online messages are easily disguised, but I simply wanted to see what responses I get. Sooner or later in life you will have to mean things you say or you don't, then that's a waste. There is so much in life which we don't understand, and the only way to get closer to the truth is by being honest with ourselves. I have come across a fabulous little book written by Stuart Wilde, it's called 'Silent Power'. In a way, writing messages online is a way of practicing silent power, because I am not speaking, just thinking on the keyboard. Also, in chess I found that the true power and thrill of the game unfold when you silently find the combination or the right move before you actually make it.
That's it for now, guys, I'm very happy and grateful to all of you who have joined. I am not concerned with how big the group is or will be. Less is more, I guess is the motto here.
Try it out for a few days, this thing called 'Silent Power'; don't talk unless it is absolutely necessary or important. Let's observe yourselves and how much we talk gibberish, tell self-entertaining stories just to paint over our own discomfort or dampen our worries, re-telling stuff from TV and Radio. Just do whatever you want to get done. Short-term and long-term goals apply here. Then when you're finished, have a cup of tea or coffee or a drink of your choice and enjoy the fact that you just did everything you wanted to do.
PS: Stuart Wilde wrote many many books, including small booklets, one of them is called 'Miracles'. I would love to hear feedback from you guys. I only costs $7 in the US. [Other titles are: 'Life Was Never Meant To Be A Struggle', 'Weight Loss For The Mind' [!], 'Simply Wilde' and 'The Secrets Of Life'.
