    What do you think about Zdeno Chara's hit on Max Pacieratty

    I'm not convinced it was an accident, but assuming it was, it's part of the game - like skate cuts, pucks in the face and everything else.  However, if it was intentional, the guy should be strung up by his toenails over a pit of vipers...

    That aside, I was at Game 2 of the B's and Flyers playoffs last year at the Garden, and the guy certainly does stand out!  Tongue out

    As a Habs fan, I was very doubtful at first that it wasn't intentional. However, given that Zdeno Chara has a good record, I've come to believe he was sincere when he said it was an accident. If some scum like Matt Cooke or Chris Pronger had done the same thing I wouldn't believe it was an accident, but Chara has throughout his career shown himself as a player with class.

    As to the hit itself, it was not dirty per se, but it was still an interference, for which Boston received a 5-minute major and Chara was given a game penalty. While I am reconciled to the NHL's decision not to suspend Chara I feel in the future there should be an automatic suspension for players who cause injury when breaking the rules (like Chara did.)

    While I still view the Bruins as a fierce rival, I hold no grudge over this incident.

    i think that it was a legal hit so no suspension required

    Chara's hit was on a player who played for the Michigan Wolverines. He should be in jail for life.

    The refs at the game said it was a leagal hit and that chara got a penelty because someone was hurt.

    @Bruins33

    Pacioretty didn't have the puck so it was an interference, but, yes, if nobody was hurt it would've only been a 2 minute minor.

    @BurnU

    Under the current rules no suspension was required, however as I said they should make a rule that gives an automatic suspension for interfernces, etc. that lead to injuries.

    mattattack99 (as his info shows) is from Ann Arbor, which is where Michigan University is located.The Wolverines are Michigan U's team in NCAA hockey.

    He is obviously having a mild Wink over-reaction to a former-team member (Pacioretty) getting injured in a hockey play gone wrong. Laughing

    If symptoms persist I recommend rabies vaccinations. Tongue out

    I've calmed down now. Speaking of Michigan hockey, we made it to the frozen four! We play North Dakota Thursday at 8:30 est on ESPN2.

    I know what you meant, I took no offense!Smile And Michigan upset North Dakota 2-0 (despite being outshot 40-20) so we advance to the finals vs. Minnesota.

    That hit was obviously intentional, but before you guys start calling me an idiot, he DID NOT try to break his neck. He wanted to give him an extra shove because he doesn't like Max.
