Can we hold them at this point?...Come on India....Come on!
Great test match just completed, well done Australia. Now time to win the chess
59-57, very tight
55-55 Great match here. Hopefully will have one more in Melbourne starting today.
the fact you have so many players is maybe why you have 2 teams. USA has 4, but each member can only play for 1. As it is TI has 4000 members, surely you can come up with a competitive team with those numbers, maybe your SA's should sent out pm's to shore up the boards
You mean there is just one australian team in chess.com? Well, we have around 10 if not more Indian groups in chess.com. But ko7 invited TI to participate, not 10 other Indian groups.
form 1 team then no drama
@stoker68: If you put yourself truly in our shoes you will understand, so please take a deep breadth, consider carefully what I have to say and then respond.
Say one more groups "The Kangaroos" which has 80% same members as "Team Australia", is included in AL.
Now suppose 40 out of those 80 players decide to play for The Kangaroos also, and are not allowed to play for Team Australia, what will your stance be?
Do remember, you had no say in this matter. While other countries have just one team, Australia has two and the players are divided between them.
Would you not say, "Hey what is going on here? Who asked The Kangaroos to be included in AL? And even if some Director goofed up, why does Team Australia have to be deprived of it's legitimate players?"
You might even say to the director, "OK my friend, you goofed up. You included two groups from same country. So you made a mistake. No problem. However, in doing so, since you have already made one exception to the rule of one country-one team, please make one more exception so that it remains a level playing ground. Do not apply the rule of one player-one team in a round between Team Australia and The kangaroos. This will enable us to fight against Indonesia, Iran, India etc with the full force we have, not the depleted one because you goofed up."
And we in Team India will say "fair enough, why should Australia suffer because of a director's goof up."
This is the situation we are in.
If you read the rules nobody is allowed to play for more than 1 team in the European League, the World League or the Asian League. Why do you guys seem to think is unfair for you but nobody else.
You deserve the kudos Ashlee. So far it is pretty good showing by TI. And this is with our one hand tied behind! Those Team India players who are playing for Indian Marauders have been barred from joining this match, quite unfairly, because it has depleted our playing strength for no fault of ours. Amazingly a wrong decision made by AL directors is resulting in India being punished. But that is life I guess. And it will continue like this in AL 2012 too - all my reasoning with them to see the light has failed!!
Congrats Ashlee. You are right, a win over a players who is +200 than you in rating is certainly cause for celebrations.
v hav opened up a healthy lead of 9 pts...lets keep it goin tat ways...gd luck TI !!!
Well done Anubhavh. Sharing points with FPinget was no mean a feat!
C'mon Oz, time to pull our fingers out
