Hi everyone!

First off, I want to congratulate all of you (us!) for joining the Aspiring Masters. The very fact that you're here indicates that you have the very same spirit found in both classical and modern Grandmasters. Although we may be at different levels of progress in our journey to become Masters, the fact that we're in this group indicates that we are actively pursuing the title. On that note, if you are an unambitious, casual player, this may not be the group for you.

For those interested (all of you, I hope!) here's how the group will work:

At any given moment, we will only have 1 match + 1 vote game ongoing. Ultimately, our goal is to keep the group's game load down, while keeping our playing quality high.

On that note, when we DO have group matches, everyone is asked to join them.

In regards to vote chess, before voting on a move, please post the move you are hoping to vote on and wait for some feedback before voting. Randomly thrown votes are wasted.

Game analysis will also be an important part of improving. At the end of all of our games (win, loss, or draw) played for the group, we annotate the game and then publish them in the stuck thread for analysis.

Most importantly, lets help eachother out. The jump from 2000 to 2200 (National Master) is often described as the single hardest 200 points to be gained in chess.
