You should send team match challenges in rating divisions chessychessrocks... e.g. <1300, 11301-1600, 1601-1900, >1900... this is what I always do... it makes for a much fairer competition and increases your chances of winning...

I am also working on my (Average) Opponent Rating and playing against a high rated player always helps. It also increases your confidence (doesn't harm your rating too much) and just like Mithras said, I feel comfortable while playing around 2050-2100 rating but above that is no fun coz I am totally outmatched in tactical skill. As a collectively reseponsibility, our group's success in Team Matches is the Top Priority at the moment.

i agree with the sentiment minoc , i recently had the pleasure of losing a couple of games against 2600+ rated players ,but at the same time nabeal has a good point we should nt play matches where we are heavily outgunned down the entire list ,i'm comfortable playing anyone less than 250 points above my rating

I totally agree with you minoc with only one request to be considered. As a group we are standing at a (Team Matches) winning %age of 30 only. We need to improve that percentage also for our group by playing Team Matches against those teams which are equally matched. Even if the differnece of ratig is confined to one or two players, we should not cancel the matches. But if we have no comparison at all from top to bottom, I reckon we should be careful. Agree???

In response to matches where we are out-matched, I for one prefer to play people better than me. I think it is the only way to get better in the long run. I am not adverse to playing in out-matched games. If we always play easy teams., a winning ratio has no meaning... but if we do well against a good team...
Just my thoughts.

Yes Jacob. Anyplace where we are highly outmatched, we should avoid those Matches.
