Queens Gambit Players

  • The Queen's Gambit is one of the oldest known chess openings. It was mentioned in the Göttingen manuscript of 1490 and was later analysed by masters such as Gioachino Greco in the seventeenth century. During the early period of modern chess, queen pawn openings were not in fashion, and the Queen's Gambit did not become common until the 1873 tournament in Vienna. The Queen's Gambit is still frequently played and it remains an important part of many grandmasters' opening repertoires.

  • based on the survey results, I created to vote chess challanges. Based on my ineptitude they are of 2 different sets ups, with sides asigned randomly. I didn't know how to set up where we play 2 games 1 each per side of a line. We have a QGA and a Ragozin System coming. Close third place finish was basic Slav and basic QGD, 4th place was the Moscow. next time I'll add a 2 day per move option. Thanks for voting everyone.

  • Hey! We just won another vote chess game and will set up another. Any perference for opening variation. We found our way into a Cambridge Springs last game, and Justin mentioned Moscow Var of the Semi-Slav. I'd like to try the Ragozin at some point. Any other ideas. or does anyone want to try more than one at a time?
