Howdy Drummers!! How has everyone been? Sorry I've been gone so long (working 11 days a week), but Summer Vacation is here, so I finally have enuf time for chess again!! :-) I've got 1950 messages in my inbox, plus thousands of new comments, and threads, etc. to catch up on or at least clear from my notification list, so I'll be busy for a while, but I had to check in with my favorite groups first (and I did create this one after all). ;-) See you 'round.

Well, they've got all 5 of their players ready to go, and we still don't have a single player signed up for the match. 13 of our 20 members have been online in the last month. 10 have been on in the last week. So we've got the members. Can we please get 5 who are willing to play some chess?

Hey fellow drummers, we've been challenged to a Team Match by the Frank Zappa group, Cosmik Debris. They called the match, "Drums Are Noisy." ;-) It's only for 1-5 players. Do we have that many active members in the group willing to play some chess?

Thanks DD...That sounds like good advice. I'm still playing in my "head", like anyone of us....but now I noticed I keep dropping the sticks...oops.

Back! Do not go cold turkey! I repeat, do NOT go cold turkey. Glasses with varying amounts of water respond nicely to spoons or forks. Hand drumming can be administered to any table or flat surface. If you are experiencing severe symptoms (such as listening to elevator music or playing crossword puzzles) immediate relief can be found in upturned pots and pans. If symtoms are life-threatening, administer trash can lid and hubcap therapy stat.

I have lent my whole kit to a lifelong friend that is in a working band and has "lost" his to a burst hose on a washer. I think I need to detox.....

I was so depressed last night, thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my non-existent savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., that I called the Suicide Hotline. I got a call center in Pakistan and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck :-).

Regarding izzyabes comments about listenable death metal. Try Amon Amarth. Unbelievable power and yet you can actually understand lyrics and they actually make sense. Drummer Fredrick Andersson shreds! Very tribal.
