  • As for Carlsen-Anand, 11. .. Bb7 is not new: Milov (2632)-Chapearinov(2550) 2004 then continued 12. 0-0 Re8 and likely appeared in an Informant. TWIC cites Ponomariov-Kramnik 2003 as the end of the line after 11. Bg2, but it's been reached at least six times since then. At any rate, the game was won several moves later and not in the opening.

  • Sorry, but my health has precluded me from contributing for the past few days. Today was a rest day in Tal Memorial, which has Nakamura in clear first place, ripping off three wins (two as Black) after losing as White in the first round and apparently dismissing his second, an Artur Kogan (whom I've never heard of before). Tuesday features Carlsen v Anand--almost certainly a GM draw--but Nakamura, after snatching victory from the jaws of defeat vs Kramnik in the second round, now appears to
