  • Now THAT is an intelligent decision!

  • i would say it should always be a work in progress. lolz

  • Well characterized and qualified, Mike. Of course in the end we all agree to disagree. And I would say that being cautiously skeptical is not synonymous with close-minded. One last thought: since a decision can only be judged intelligent after considerable time (and if you change your mind does that mena the old decsion was not intelligent?), usually I like to paint my current working worldview as an 'informed position'.

  • Myself, after having been steeped in Catholicism and after careful consideration for all these years, I'm pretty closed minded on any theology. I find them interesting, that's about it. I've seen enough evidence in all this time to make an intelligent decision. Adding deities to cosmology is a completely unnecessary over complication. This in an area people must agree to disagree on and respect each other's right to their point of view.

  • It could be considered open mined I guess in that no theology has been adopted, so all may or may not be of interest. i dunno, depends on the person.

  • That's a more arguable position, MikeDoyle, from a definition of Atheism point of view. But it does not defend the point that makes it a more 'open-minded' position. This might merit a forum post discussion?

  • Atheism is merely the lack of any theology. It's the simplest, most logical base condition. Why add a theology when one is not necessary?

  • You proved it yourself:"... is simplyconcluding...." An openmind, by definition, keeps thedoor open - doesn't shut it byconcluding its implausible. Isay 'Love' doesn't existoutside being a convenieintsemantic handle (meme-complex)for an otherwise too-complexbiochemical processintereacting within asophisticated neurologicallandscape to describe everytime you want to get laid. Godis the same for me. Ibelieve-in use God like Ibelieve-in/use Love.
