Lately in our vote chess games, we have some problems with drive-by voters.

So, what are drive-by voters? You may be a drive-by voter, but not even know it. A drive-by voter is someone in a vote chess game, who doesn't wait for the vote call and just immediately votes for their favorite move. Please don't do this, since at The Roman Senate, we don't want drive-by voters. Drive-by voters can lead to incorrect moves, and can lead us to losing.

If you are a drive-by voter, we'd like to wish that you would please stop being one and be a voter. That way, it can prevent The Roman Senate from making errors that can ruin the game and ruin the fun for the players involved.

The Roman Senate vote chess games are not all about winning though! The vote chess captains are not here to be the emperors of chess. The vote chess captains are just here to help voters which votes to move, and analyze other moves.

You may not know how to not be a drive-by voter, so here's how you don't be one.

In our 3/day or 2/day vote chess games, we have our vote captains and our co-vote captains. In every move, we have the first 24 or 48 hours to discuss on which move to make, and analyze other moves. Then, after the final 24 hours, or if the captain calls the vote, then voters can start voting.

Vote chess is supposed to be a place where chess players can learn through discussion. Learning from others forces you out of your comfort zone to learn new concepts and openings, to play more aggressive or conservative. To learn. If you are a drive-by voter you are not learning and therefore not reaching any new potentials. You are also hurting our team. We love to hear your voice! There are no bad questions and there is no judging people here, just chess talk. Please participate in discussions, or at the very least, vote with the team.
