Upstate New York Chess Club

  • Syracuse, New York United States
  • Formed: Feb 23, 2008
  • Welcome to the Upstate New York Chess Club. I hope this will be a useful spot to find games with fellow Upstaters and information about chess in our region. Check out our event posts regarding local chess clubs and tournaments. Post your own information as well. So far we have had two tournaments, one open to anyone and one invitational for members only. Congrats to Chessdonkey and Ozymandiasoz who have held the title of Upstate Champ. We have also begun match play against Connecticutt and Hawaii. We are looking to challenge other states and regions who think they are up to the challenge.

  • Hi guys, im new to the group, I am from Auburn, NY. Its about 20 minutes outside of Syracuse. I am very interested in this group and would love to meet anyone in it to play chess live one on one. I always love a great game of chess. :)

  • Great job team on our first two matches. Solid play produced two convincing victories over Connecticut and Hawaii. Weigh in on the forum to decide what we do next.

  • Upstate Invitational: Though second through sixth places are not yet decided - It is my pleasure to announce that Ozymandiasoz has won the 2008 Upstate New York Invitational. Ozy played brilliantly and defeated some stiff competition. Brassmicroscope is poised to take second place, but, still has some work to do.

  • We have accepted Connecticut's challenge. It will be a match format with 5 to 8 players on each side. You should have recieved a notice with the option to sign up. Let me know if you didn't.
