Occupation: History teacher, tourist guide
My name is Arunas. Arūnas actually (with a letter “ū” in a middle – which in Lithuanian is pronounced longer than normal “u”). I am a history teacher. In summer time I also work in incoming tourism as a guide for tourists coming to Lithuania. This I can name as half a work and half a hobby. The other thing I like to do is writing as I enjoy telling stories in literary way. I like learning languages and without my own Lithuanian I also speak English, Russian and a little German. German is still on learning, so I would like to have more matches with German speaking players - to chat during a game for my language practicing.
And of course I like playing chess! I learned to play when I was about 8 years old. Then I was playing only with my uncle (who taught me to play) and my friends. I have never played in any tournaments and nothing similar to this. Later because of some circumstances I wasn’t playing chess for many years at all. And now after I found this wonderful website, I am getting back to chess.
Playing online games I try to find time to make my moves every day. So I would like to play with people also being able to make at least one move per day. However, in my game settings I prefer to have “3 days” move period – just in case.
I wish everyone to find here many friendly chess players and to enjoy many interesting chess matches!
