I am an art historian based in Philadelphia who has enjoyed playing chess for a long time, despite having taken an eighteen year break. I am 60 so it is a good way to keep my mind active. Unfortunately I like the game better than I can play it. 

The best thing about chess.com for me is that I get to meet people from all over the world, and it is especially interesting to meet people from countries that don't especially enjoy amicable relations with the USA. This is a great way to meet and exchange ideas without the usual political baggage. I also enjoy the chess videos offered here which have really helped my game improve.  

Finally, don't get annoyed at me if I don't see your text messages--sometimes I am concentrating and just don't see it.
