If someone wants to be in your life, they'll make an effort to be in it. Don't reserve your heart for someone who doesn't make an effort to stay. This quote is a lesson I need to learn, the sooner the better.
I was accepted into high school dedicated to the arts. 4 slots, 50 applications for the district. It was an amazing school and an amazing experience but I moved and declined the slot. I love capturing things, either with my camera or with my pencils, before they disappear forever. I also LOVE music! Travel is something I'm very excited about. I love seeing new things and talking to new people; they always have a different experience to share. They've all had different stories and different things to come home to. It's what makes them interesting. I have a little sister, two dogs, and a cat. Cat's been with me for as long as I can remember.
The military is a big part of my life. For this reason, I've set my sights on the service academies West Point and the Coast Guard Academy. Its already a stressful process. I have to decide which classes I want to take later and therefore decide how to take my classes in my earlier years. Im on my way to taking AP classes as well as being high ranked in JROTC, various afterschool activities with the program, competative swimming, soccer, hoping for National Honors Society. If next year a chess club is made, I was told I would be the president of it. Grades are always pressing down on me and they are never good enough for my tastes. I'm already stressing about my nominations, even though I don't need to be worried about them until Junior year. The Coast Guard Academy doesn't require a nomination but West Point does. You can get them from your Senator, Congressman, Vice President, President, if your JROTC unit is Honor Unit With Distinction (which mine is) you can get a nomination for that. There is also one if your parent or guardian serves more than 7 years, which my father will have by the time I need to start applying for it. Those are ones that I qualify for. There are two or three more that I don't qualify for but a majority of them I do. We'll see what happens with this.
