When I was 13, a friend teached me how to move the chessmen. For the next 30 years, I sometimes played chess against a computer without any ambition to learn about tactics or strategy.
But someday in 2009, Caissa herself (I think ;-) sent me a spark of chess fascination: Suddenly I saw something wonderful in those 64 squares and I was eager to learn and understand the game. Well, since then, chess is my favourite hobby. (To come in second afer my wife, of course! 
)
I know, I never will be a master - so what? I have fun playing, and that is, what counts, I think.
