Occupation: RETIRED & BEGINNING JR. CHESS COACH!
DENVERHIGH
Hi Thanks for dropping in.
Can I offer you a Coke with real sugar?
Sorry, I don't have Diet Coke, maybe some water?

I liked to watch, read, analyze chess and read anadotes of old time masters.
I only play RATED chess games.
I'm playing games for the Geezers, the PI group, Team Colorado, The Posse, and more.
DENVER AT FIVE YEARS OLD
GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE
I played on this bridge as a kid.
I was born in Santa Tecla, El Salvador. Migrated with family to the USA in 1946. I was raised in San Francisco, California.
Chess for me, began sixty two years ago in 1951, when I was 14, on a boring foggy summer. Six friends and I got several chess books at the library and learned to move the pieces.
We used a red and black chess card board and cheap plastic hollow pieces that always fell over all the time. They were in a forty game box. Only one friend took to playing chess regularly.
I played in a playground championship and won my matches easily because they barely knew how to move the pieces.
In the semi-final games, I lost badly.
DENVER AT 14 YEARS OLD
One day I watched Master George Koltanowski perform a blindfold 30 game chess presentation at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, California.
I was impressed when he performed the Knights tour. I became a member of his Chess Friends Association and joined his chess club.
You're welcomed to copy it.
This is the Turks tour that Kolty used.
I have played around ninety rated games, four un-rated games and two 960 games.
I have 6 more active chess games.
DENVER DURING ROCK & ROLL DAYS
I USED TO PLAY DO-WOP SONGS
When I was 21 years old I used to play blindfold chess with another employee. We learned because if they caught us playing while working we would be fired. So I learned using descriptive notation.
I played a blindfold game with 1plus1is4 here on Chess.com.

I have 19 chess sets, a demo board to teach beginners and run tournaments. I carry a complete chess set and clock in my car.
I run a free after school chess programs. I have twenty three students. In April I am starting a local chess club.
I have a chess set that is played with cards. The moves are determined by the card that you draw. So when I play a , beginning chess player or even a grandmaster "CARD CHESS" anyone can win.
My eight year old granddaughter beat me at bowling during the summer of 2011. She bowled a 160 game. I could have tied her if I had rolled a strike, but I only rolled a eight count for 158. She has the print out and that shows she has beaten her Papa.
I like the happiness in the eyes of beginners when they learn something and execute it in a game. I teach them that it doesn't matter if they win or if they lose. I teach them to love the game.
People think I'm a good chess player. I'm not. In reality everyone I play casually aren't good players, because they only know how to move the pieces. When I play a good player, I lose.
Above are my four kids, now grown men. They play chess, bowling and soccer and I was their coach.
My grown sons have families now. Two have beaten me at chess several times. Four of my six grandchildren play chess.
DENVER AT OLD & PRESENT
Chess is old and I'm older than dirt!
MY 2 1/2 year old grandson moves the horsey to Nf3.
Noticed that he moved the other horsey twice to NC3 and NB5.
KAI & I ARE PLAYING A REAL GAME
I write memoirs and if the piece is creative fiction, I mark it so. I hope you read one at least.
"My Time in San Quentin Prison" click on it:

I take classes at the Jr. College. for my enjoyment. I take many different genres just to learn things for my pleasure.
Above and In my photo albums I have a chess board made of butterfly wings and cannot be made anymore. The butterflies are on the endangered species. It truly is beautiful. Made in Brazil in the 1930's.
Given to me because of my love of chess and because I train all beginners. Click on it:

Bye for now!
"May all your moves be great, but not against me."
" It's your move now."
What follow are some of my favorite.
The second one applies to chess and to life as well.
This my Favorite The Three Tenors in Los Angeles During the World Cup in 1994.
When you play the next video from 1958 don't leave after it's done. There are two more versions as he gets older attached.
The will start automatically.
I love California Girls!
