My Name Is Derek Zhang, and I am a 6th Grader in WA State.
My favorite quote, by Mazer Rackham in the book ENDER'S GAME: "Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man stupid and blind in the eyes."
I have three groups here on chess.com where I am an admin: 1. Scratch Chess Club, 2. Chess Randomness, 3. Washington Kids Chess Group.
As of October 2013, I am ranked 32nd in the Nation for 11 year olds.
I have also been the highest rated chess player in my grade in WA State for quite a few years.
I have also won the National Elementary Chess Championships before.
Recently, in November 2012, I won the U1800 section of the American Open.
Recently, on January 20th, 2014, I tied for first in the WA State Junior (U21) Open, with 3.5/4! Unfortunately, I lost the Armageddon Playoff game :(
