Regarding the monstrosity known as Health Care Reform now leaving the Pelosi House and on its way to the Reid Senate: do anything you can to stop this. Call your Senators. Protest. March. Write.
As usual, government is desperate to show that it can solve a problem when, in fact, here as in so many other cases, government is the problem.
The history of the failed experiment called the Soviet Union should tell intelligent people all they need to know about government provision of goods and services. Yet, time and again, Americans of a certain political bent attempt to emulate the Soviet failure, instead of strengthening the only system that's been proven to provide ever increasing levels of wealth and prosperity: the free enterprise system. Effective reform is simple: get the government out of the way. That kind of reform is, not surprisngly, unpopular with politicians.
There is no right to health care, just as there is no right to any other goods and services that must be produced by others to be provided.
