I am a fortysomething Englishman living near Manchester, UK. Married with 2 teenage daughters, 2 shi-tzu dogs and a hamster named "Cheesecake" [Don't ask!] This is Cheesecake and these are my boys Noah and Moses :
I have played chess for most of my life, starting in Junior school when I was aged approximately 10. I don't study openings or positions unless of course I am IN a game, although I probably use recognised play without knowing it's 'chess' name. I can play well, but get impatient, so make the odd mistake here and there........... In October 2009 I happened upon Chess.Com when reading a scathing review of "GAMEKNOT" I was going to join 'gameknot' but after the reviewer criticized gameknot for poor admin and unexplained 'Instant banning' and praised Chess.Com for it's excellent design , I signed up and became a premium member today. So far I have thoroughly enjoyed playing on Chess.Com, the interface is top notch. I have already recommended this site widely.
