About Me:
As you can tell from the selected image, I'm old enough to be a grandfather... And in fact my grandson plays chess and he beats me occasionally (if he doesn't take his Queen out too early!)... I am also a committed Christian. I love God and delight in His glory and goodness. I also love my family. I have a wonderful wife, three grown kids, and five grandchildren. They are all great people. I love learning. Since I'm not much good at chess that means I've got lots to love! For me chess is great relaxation and a way to keep the gray matter fresh. I played a little bit in High School but began playing for real a few years ago. I enjoy slow real-time games (the gray matter synapses don't fire the way they used to) and play with slow time controls at the Internet Chess Club - including team tournaments with the '45 45 League.' I'm not much good, but I'm an enthusiastic learner... I found www.chess.com in my search for a good server to host the play of a group of friends, schedule private tournaments, etc. I also organize "The GrayMatter Chess Community" (an on-line group here at chess.com).
