The name 'Gwynlian' comes from the character 'Gwynllian' in the trilogy 'Song of Albion' by Stephen Lawhead. This name is also a version of 'Gwenllian.' Gwenllian ferch Gruffydd was a Welsh princess who led armies against the Norman invaders in the 11th century. For centuries after her death, Welshmen cried-out Revenge for Gwenllian when engaging in battle.
