I used to play a pretty good chess in my early years and then I stopped playing for a long, long time. Now -- about 30 years later -- I've got a chess addict again!
Note that I can beat 2100 players at turn-based chess, but I'm also very likely for a nice blunder and can lose against a 1800 player. I also play blitz or even bullet chess, but just for relaxation, I don't take this very seriously.
I never use chess engines -- mainly because of two reasons: First because chess.com is an international platform and I represent my country. As a German I've been trying to be honest, correct and polite and if you use engines you don't have any of these qualities. Secondly I anyway know that Fritz, Houdini and co. are better than you. It's boring to prove that again. People who cheat do not have any self-esteem, and I'm too old for a childish behaviour like this.
My hobbies are chess and dogs. I have a Rottweiler-Dobermann-mix called Kira, she's very active and takes a lot of my spare time. The rest is occupied by chess, of course.
