Hello chess.com viewers!
My name is Leo, I'm in grade 4, and I live in BC Canada.
Chess is my favourite "over the board" game. My other favourite game is a game you guys can download if you have an apple product ( I have an Ipad ). The game is called Clash of Clans. I have a group for Clash of Clans as well.
I always sucked at chess and my rating barely changed in 2011 and 2012. In this year and probably in the next few years as well, my dad found me a new coach and my chess abilities improved a lot. I went from USCF 1038 at the end of the summer to my rating at the moment.
I'm not a master or anything but I can teach beginners under USCF 1000. For more info, check out my coach profile on chess.com at www.chess.com/coach/leo-qu .
I better not tell you guys my favourite openings or else you could prepare for me. Hint: I never play e4.
Canada is not much of a chess country but I believe one of the strongest grandmasters ( I think he is the only one, LOL ) is Eric Hansen. During Canada's yearly open tournament, we get players from US ( Eugene Perelshteyn, Daniel Rensch, Keaton Kiewra, etc. ) to make it more of a chance to improve your rating. Playing against strong players is the best way to improve your chess!
I'm also involved in the Dan Heisman Learning Center which includes the Slow Chess League, Online Chess League etc. They are in charge of great events that can really improve your chess. Join if you like Dan Heisman's videos on ICC and articles on his website at www.chess.com/groups/dan-heisman-learning-center
If you'd like to know more about me check out my blog.
Thanks for reading my "about me" article and I hope to see you around on chess.com!
