Hi,
Some 20 plus years ago I won a few tournamentrs as a junior and played for the county at senior level, but stopped playing competitively around the age of 15 after failing to improve (a lack of practise may have been my downfall) and turned my attention to other sports.
I read a biography of Bobby Fischer last year, which did 3 things; 1.Reminded me that he was a rather unsavoury character, 2. Made me think that he's a bit over rated 3. Inspired me to play chess again.
So I joined this site and ...... cripes there is alot I've forgotten. And to be good at chess you really have to immerse yourself in it, and frankly I dont have the time! So its for fun these days, and the quality of my play fluctuates according to how much time I have on any given day to study the position.
